Every color in a project is stored only once; also if you use the color in multiple objects. Colors are stored in a color database called the Color Repository.
It is possible to define colors with a grade of transparancy, although not every object is able to show the transparancy.
The color references can be edited in a special dialog: "Color Repository Editor".
